1745. Do Our Students Know How to Spell?



Learning to spell correctly is something that adds a point to classes totally in English or in other modern language. It helps students to immerse in the class and the language. 

First you teacher can write the alphabet on the whiteboard (for example) and practice naming each letter, in alphabetical order. 

Then, in order to practice furtherly, tap with your marker on the letters in alphabetical order and the students say the sounds as a chorus. Afterward tap randomly. 

All this serves the purpose of you teacher writing the words the students say in their contributions to the class. And as well you can teach them a word and they write it down on their notebooks, by spelling the word. 

Also to practice spelling in English is pretty good because as you know we write and say the same word in a different way in English, like “Gloucester”, “choir”, “traffic circle”. / Photo from: madre e hija. discreame blogspot com

According again to Alejandro Llano all this education passes through deep tutoring sessions, going to specific details and actions.  And of course the first role of education is in their parents’ hands. Parents are the main educators of their children, and they turn to schools because they don’t know physics, Latin, etc.  Thus, the school’s labor is subsidiary.  Parents should talk with their children in an easy way, also they should transmit values, both by means of setting an example and by talking.   Just to halt at times. And have a quick mental look or perspective to your teaching. That is something I sometimes do.  For example I did something of this at Christmas break. We had stopped our English classes for a while. And at home I had a mental peek at how my students were doing, and how I was doing as a teacher myself. Just to detect failures in me and in them. Also to find out what was turning out fine.  And all that is just something simple, even intuitive. It’s like keeping track of how things are going.
