2692. Within some days we are in Christmas!



In Christmas we Christians celebrate something just paramount. 

There is one God, ok? but three Persons in it: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Ok, the second Person, who is God, took our human flesh and incarnated: Jesus Christ, some 2,000 years ago. 

He worked with his hands, and was one of us, equal except he didn’t commit any sin. 

He died on the Cross but resurrected on the third day, on Sunday. 

His message, his commandment, is we should love God with all our effort and will, and we too should love other people, as we love ourselves. Merry Christmas and a nice 2016, my readers! We keep in touch.

3125. Working as a Team in the Classroom

  We teachers should be updated about education trends or research trends, more if they seem okay. What I mean is that quite many teachers are trying the following working scheme. The class plus the teacher would be a working team. Anyway this does not mean the teacher is secondary or minor role, or he cannot present topics, like for example grammar patterns. The point is roping the class into a process of learning: the students also are the main characters at this play. The teacher would boost their learning, for example by making them participate more, and also by doing everything that would put them as protagonists of the lesson, together with their teacher. In other words the teacher would foster and boost his students’ creativity. In the lesson there would be the teacher’s creativity plus the students’ creativity too. 1930. The necessity of compromise

We have freedom, tentatively, and by principle. First premise.  However if I skip any compromise, I can't use my freedom.  If I compromise with someone about something I must fulfill it, right?  Albeit some people think that getting married for example doesn't entail to live with your spouse for the rest of your life, I'd say that compromise is for all the lifetime of one of the spouses however. 3708. When Was the Last Time Our Students Read a Full Book?

  Today I would like to point out a couple of points that may help you out, mainly if you are a teacher, like I am.  You know, a lot has been said about the student’s motivation in class, and that’s fine, for our lessons don’t need to bore our dear students and a whole herd of cows alike.  However, if for example a kid in class achieves to solve a math problem, or to write an essay in English (say, his target language), about a given topic, well, he will get perfectly content. There may be nothing better than the student would strive to do things fine, and learn a lot of things from his teacher.  Effort and struggling may also be paramount in class, and alike at home with their homework. 3147. Beauty as Something So Educative

I’ve discovered that beauty can be very educative, well, better said, I found it so quite many years ago. An activity I implement in my lessons is describing pictures for example of beautiful sceneries and landscapes, from magazines. They’re both interesting for describing them in the target language, which is English, and also to make our lessons more human and humane. A picture of a scenery is kind of a window that’s open to nature, often beautiful nature. After one student has described it he may show the picture to his classmates, who have been trying to imagine the landscape as the first student was telling what he could see. Our students, I’ve observed, need to learn from beauty, and watching landscapes can be very instructive. Also we could project a video and pause at sceneries to describe by one student, and the rest of his classmates can add something else, from what they can see.
