3619. The Teaching Profession May Be So Beautiful

 We teachers may be spending some nice vacation, or otherwise we may be still working, or even we may be dreaming nice about next school year. 

It may be a good moment anyway to put our profession in front of our eyes and try to improve our teaching job. 

For example we may think that we don’t just teach but also educate those people for a happy future and a happy present now. 

As well we have to educate people who will try hard to make happy to those other people our students will treat. 

We definitely have to educate those people, but in accordance with their parents and in much way in accordance with human dignity. 

For example we have to teach those students how to contemplate beauty. 

Not only will we try to form people for the so demanding job market today, but we teachers are right there in the classroom to carry out something else, and that something else definitely is educating them. 

I teach English to adults. And we deal with texts in the class, thus why not trying those students would contemplate beauty through those texts? Even those students could contemplate the meaning, language, values, etc. within those texts. 

The texts I bring along to the class have to be interesting, have to have human interest. 

I do not attend my teaching post only for those learners to learn English, but also to make them happy. I deal with people, individuals, with a biography each one. 

Moreover, I think I should bring along books that are interesting and have some human interest. For example classics, and books which are also in accordance with human dignity. I have other things to write about concerning all this, but on coming days I hope to post furtherly. Have a nice day.

  I teach English to adults. It’s so great … and demanding.  Adults have some characteristic way of learning the language. For example they tend to focus on specific grammar patterns and ways of saying things in the target language. Well, it’s something I also do when learning that language myself. 2064. Connecting people from different countries

Something we teachers of English or other languages have to bear in mind when teaching adults is that the students should learn and practice communication, and we shouldn’t confine our classes to give them facts of the languages.  Also in kids’ case.  The point isn’t for them to know information about the language, yet to learn how to communicate in that language.  Thus we could plan our classes with that aim.  I state all this because we could dedicate a long time to teach facts, information, something nearly dead, say.  In this way, besides we contribute to connect people from so varied countries. One day teacher of English B said to teacher of English A, “English irregular verbs are an interesting grammar point Spanish students have to study year after year, increasing the list of them each academic year. Quite many more verbs of this type existed in Old English, before the 11th century, perhaps most of the English verbs then. In other words, the way each verb took the form of past simple and past participle was more complicate than the simple – ed ending. With centuries passing, fewer and fewer verbs remained as such ‘irregular’ verbs, in fact those verbs native speakers used very often. Because of that those verbs remained being ‘irregular’, while most of the English verbs, roughly speaking, were taking on the regular form of – ed for past simple and past participle. One day teacher B said to teacher A, "I'm glad, ya know?, because my elder daughter has told me she has begun to write a book, a novel. I like the idea. One person who decides to write a book, well, or a story, a shorter story, sounds great, you know? She reads a lot of novels, kind of one every two or three weeks. I'm after she wouldn't lose time of her studies - she is 15. She has a sketch of the characters and some ideas. I gently try to suggest to her possible useful tips.
