362. Can you follow my presentation?

One day teacher A said to teacher B, “You had to prepare an adult learner to write essays in English a few years ago?

And you didn’t achieve to help her efficiently?

And she was a newbie researcher in Science and lacked Art for writing or just for organizing ideas, to type them on the computer?

Key point: clarity; simplicity for the potential reader-in-mind to be able to understand the essay. Let her finish her sentences, her thoughts. Short sentences.

Make her pour her knowledge into simple, easily understandable statements. Make her go to the core point of what she means, of what she wants to say. Make her practice writing with a simple thread of ideas.

Teach her basic linkers, like ‘however’, ‘also’, ‘and’, ‘as well’.

Oh, and make her read good novels in English or in her native language. That provides a deposit of thought and knowledge, and provides ways to express herself too.” Photo from images google es unav (Universidad de Navarra).
