1677. Content-Based Instruction: it's useful

In the methodology of CBI, this is, Content-Based Instruction, the teacher and the students discuss about a topic which is interesting to the kids.

In this case English is not the end but a vehicle to communicate among the people in the classroom.

English is an instrument, a means, a tool.

Here the teacher asks questions to provoke the conversation. Each student speaks on his own or is addressed by the teacher or by a student.

Sometimes a topic is brought out in a class, like for example the monuments of Granada and other attractions for tourists: the teacher then sees that it be interesting to talk about that. Tomorrow I have a class: I’ll try to apply this methodology. Will it work well? / Photo from: Harvest Pics www thecombineforum com
