2009. What must a teacher be like?



A teacher, at his profession, has his own ethics and morals. 

For example, he’ll try to be fair with each and every student. 

Also he sets an example to his students. 

He’ll take care of his dressing as well, and he’ll try to be polite and nice. 

Last but not least, it’s better he have tutoring sessions with students of his gender, better than with girls. At tutoring sessions you can reach the intimate backgrounds of a boy or a male adult. / Photo from: ricochet com

One day teacher of English B said to teacher of English A, “In my opinion, definitely it’s a great and essential idea today here in Spain and in other countries (I guess), more and more, subjects different from English should be taught and learned in English. For example it’s becoming more and more frequent today that in Spain students attend classes of History, and Science, with textbooks in English, or by means of portfolios or dossiers made from here and there – complementary topics to one another. This may mean like a change of mind: English is not only a practical subject to actually learn English, but a vehicular language for other subjects. 1189. A sere education is necessary

According again to Alejandro Llano all this education passes through deep tutoring sessions, going to specific details and actions.  And of course the first role of education is in their parents’ hands. Parents are the main educators of their children, and they turn to schools because they don’t know physics, Latin, etc.  Thus, the school’s labor is subsidiary.  Parents should talk with their children in an easy way, also they should transmit values, both by means of setting an example and by talking. 3706. Bettering as a Teacher Myself You Mean? How Can I Do It?

  Just to halt at times. And have a quick mental look or perspective to your teaching. That is something I sometimes do.  For example I did something of this at Christmas break. We had stopped our English classes for a while. And at home I had a mental peek at how my students were doing, and how I was doing as a teacher myself. Just to detect failures in me and in them. Also to find out what was turning out fine.  And all that is just something simple, even intuitive. It’s like keeping track of how things are going.
