23. Learning how to use the dictionary


One game they love is dictionary-looking-up.

You write a new word on the blackboard.


Before doing the activity proper, let them know they have to use their dictionaries gently.


The first student who finds the word is the winner.


In this way they get faster at finding one word they need to understand a text or an exercise.
