1533. Praying in English

Summing up now, I can tell you all that my adult students today asked me for copies of the Hail Mary and Our Father prayers. Here they are for you. The pronouns and possessive adjectives are rather Old English. / Photo from: Soccer boys. www phlmetropolis com
Our Father
Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
