2152. Pragmatics is an essential area



Pragmatics is a rather new area of linguistics: it treats cases like jokes in the native language, which sound disgusting, or in a learner of a foreign language, alike can sound disgusting and impolite. 

Bad words (four-letter words in English) said by a non-native speaker sound worse too.
