2185. You wish to learn a language?

Learning a language? It entails the whole person.

Expert scholar H. Douglas Brown, of San Francisco State University, puts it:

Total commitment, total involvement, a total physical, intellectual, and emotional response are necessary to successfully send and receive messages in a second language. Many variables are involved in the acquisition process. Language learning is not a set of easy steps that can be programmed in a quick do-it-yourself kit.

I will continue soon, I hope. This is taken from: H.D. Brown (2000) Principles of Language Learning. NY: Longman.

It’s a must-read for teachers and leaners. / Photo from: group-people-talking www handsonsuperhealth com au
