3531. How to Achieve Good Students: Some Hints

What teacher does not wish to be the best one or at least a very good and professional one? And all this in today’s circumstances, with the coronavirus thing, when quite many teachers keep on tele-teaching in some way or another. 

Okay then, we can have the best teacher ever, but if his students do not want to learn, we have no learning at all! 

A good teacher in some way tries his students should work hard and learn a lot. The teacher’s main aim is also having his students learn. That is his main purpose: His students should learn and wish to do it so. 

That teacher in some way or another will try to help his students become autonomous learners. 

And even more now, when face-to-face teaching is not possible – we have a great portion of the world in quarantine. 

I can think of a marvelous teacher who passes on his own enthusiasm to his students. That teacher passes on the itch for learning to his learners. His students in that way might not confine and limit to learn something merely for passing the exam; otherwise they will want to really learn about what their teacher teaches. 

In few words: Those learners will become autonomous: They will get back home after the lesson by willing to learn more. 

It might be the case that that teacher cannot see that itch in his students but in some way he will achieve that, in some way or another. 

All of us may remember the good teachers we had at school: They did pass on their enthusiasm to us! In some way or another! 

Plan each and every lesson by thinking of your dear students in mind! 

So as to finish today: Relaxing is essential for the good teacher. Some practice? Well, have a pew, sit down, and relax by feeling your breathing: Your chest and abdomen may be going up and down while breathing. That tranquilizing rhythm will make you feel relaxed, in a rather short time. Also that technique is appropriate for getting asleep in bed at night. Have a nice week, fellow readers!

2064. Connecting people from different countries

Something we teachers of English or other languages have to bear in mind when teaching adults is that the students should learn and practice communication, and we shouldn’t confine our classes to give them facts of the languages.  Also in kids’ case.  The point isn’t for them to know information about the language, yet to learn how to communicate in that language.  Thus we could plan our classes with that aim.  I state all this because we could dedicate a long time to teach facts, information, something nearly dead, say.  In this way, besides we contribute to connect people from so varied countries. One day teacher B said to teacher A, "I'm glad, ya know?, because my elder daughter has told me she has begun to write a book, a novel. I like the idea. One person who decides to write a book, well, or a story, a shorter story, sounds great, you know? She reads a lot of novels, kind of one every two or three weeks. I'm after she wouldn't lose time of her studies - she is 15. She has a sketch of the characters and some ideas. I gently try to suggest to her possible useful tips.
