3610. Are You a Nice Teacher?

 At last I’m back with you again, readers. And I’ve recently suffered from Covid-19, fortunately and thank God with minor symptoms. And I’m glad I’m back also with my dear students. 

I'm reading and thinking and I was considering that an English language teacher like me has to think twofold. On the one hand he or she has to think that they are teaching a foreign or second language for people, for their students to communicate with other people. 

And in the classroom those language teachers will try hard to establish and build up real communication in that atmosphere. And that will be created if that teacher tries hard also to empathize with each and every student he has in front of him. As well he has to be a good listener to what his students tell him. 

He will detect whether his students are bone tired, or happy because of something specific that is occurring to them recently, or a bit disgusted with each other, or worried because of exams, or… 

Teaching is some service, and the teacher has to be humane: he will try hard to get to know his students, plus will try to be nice with them and not a barking dog in front of them. 

On the other hand that teacher will try to do things well, which is a conglomerate of tiny and little things: lesson planning day after day, being nice as I said before, studying and learning himself – if he keeps improving as a teacher, his students will notice it, dressing up or something like dressing nice for them and in attention to them, being polite, honest, straight, applying resources taken from the Internet, learning himself from experts from the Web too and from books, well, he will be gaining some prestige that will help to create like a pedestal, and all he’ll say will not fall on stony ground. 

In a word, if he does that way, he will be more and more efficient in that nice service of teaching a language which helps his students to communicate with other people from all over the world. Have a nice day.
