Self-direction and consciousness
cfr. page 10 (cite this “cfr.” when including this card)

We as teachers should foster the learners would want to learn on their own, and not spoon by spoon, only just by the teacher. We can ask them: What would you like to learn or do today? and explain to them that they are the protagonists of their learning. We have done this in the private classes to the twins, and they answered that they would like to do certain games of vocabulary. You can take profit of that this time, and show them moreover they have to acquire communicative competence as well; thus, what they would like to do or what they would do to acquire that competence. At least we would obtain from them to be more conscious [aware] and responsible of their own learning.
