1201. High achievement at learning a language

On May 28, 2004 I copied the next lines, taken from Rebecca Oxford’s book, which we have already mentioned. I changed minor things.

Success. Concept

“Other concepts related to communicative competence are proficiency and achievement. Proficiency is the degree of skill measured without reference to a particular curriculum, and achievement is the degree of skill measured with reference to a particular curriculum. Proficiency and achievement each have two parts: competence, i.e., what the learner knows, and performance, which reflects competence and is observable/measurable (Savignon, 1972).” (Page 237, chapter 1, note 9) / Photo from: www deshow net.
