Quite often our students do not know how to get the most from grammar charts or boxes in their textbooks. 

They say nothing to them; they aren’t meaningful. 

We teachers can tell them: study this box on page 69 and make five or six sentences at home. Plus we can provide one or two examples, with the book open on that page.
