1009. Try to use the target language

Teacher A said to teacher B, “Something sound is making real communication in English in classes.

Don’t worry for you may think the students won’t understand. It matters little. Something, just necessary, is massive listening to, before speaking.

What I mean here is for you, teacher of English, to speak all the time or nearly all the time of the class in English. Only in this case will there be authentic and genuine communication in English, and not only simulation.

This idea really is not all of mine: I took something from great and expert Rebecca Oxford.

In other words I here mean: the regular conducting of the class can be in English, which is the target language, and so we have real communication in English. I’ll try next class.” / Photo from: johndcramer wordpress com. fullerton-crawford-2_2010-08-23  On this pic both English and Spanish are used. It was taken in Texas
