One day teacher A said to teacher B, “You had to prepare an adult learner to write essays in English a few years ago?

And you didn’t achieve to help her efficiently?

And she was a newbie researcher in Science and lacked Art for writing or just for organizing ideas, to type them on the computer?

Key point: clarity; simplicity for the potential reader-in-mind to be able to understand the essay. Let her finish her sentences, her thoughts. Short sentences.

Make her pour her knowledge into simple, easily understandable statements. Make her go to the core point of what she means, of what she wants to say. Make her practice writing with a simple thread of ideas.

Teach her basic linkers, like ‘however’, ‘also’, ‘and’, ‘as well’.

And today I’m going to let you know about something I lately do when lesson planning, in case it may help you out.  I teach English to adults. They don’t worry about what the native language equivalents are. They don’t mentally translate things as they’re listening or speaking. Your best bet would be to try being a little more childlike .
