Teacher A said to teacher B, “I’ve told you many things about tutoring sessions with the students. Remember you must listen, listen, listen to what the student is telling you. Quite often it’s somewhat hard for them to speak for long. 

Listen and love with Aristotelian love of benevolence: you wish the best for the other.

Maybe don’t prepare anything for the tutorial, just talk with him about things that come up. Or the other way round: plan the session. It’s up to you and the way he and you are.

And today I’m going to let you know about something I lately do when lesson planning, in case it may help you out.  I teach English to adults. From my paper on H. D. Brown.  Children can teach you a lesson on how to go about learning a foreign language. They tend to move directly into a foreign language. They don’t worry about what the native language equivalents are. They don’t mentally translate things as they’re listening or speaking. Your best bet would be to try being a little more childlike .
