1789. How Did You Do It? How Did You Learn?



One day teacher A asked teacher B, “How did you achieve C-2 level of English? It’s so tough and hard! (C-2 is the highest level in the Common European Framework). 

Teacher B just answered: look, study, study, study; 
lose your fear and communicate with that person in English, come on, take some risks; 
making good use of chances to practice speaking; 
more study, more speaking, more dedicating so many hours to English; 
study, study, study; 
traveling to an English-speaking country; 
training teachers; 
coaching them; 
study, study; 
reading novels and other books; 
speaking with native speakers; 
investing effort and creativity; 
registering in courses of English;

  I wrote a few days ago the following.  One more year has begun. And today I’m going to let you know about something I lately do when lesson planning, in case it may help you out.  I teach English to adults. They don’t worry about what the native language equivalents are. They don’t mentally translate things as they’re listening or speaking. Your best bet would be to try being a little more childlike .
