And Joe added, "Suppose a student has a text before his eyes, right?
First, he has a look at the title of the text. On the margin of some coursebooks are tags that indicate the kind of task.
From the title he can foresee something of what the text is about, and this person makes in his or her mind some predictions, automatically. We're on the right pathway.

Then, this person reads the text just so as to make out about the contents.
A second, a third reading will lay the road into plain understanding.
Ok. Also he could jot down new words on a list.
I mean, each student has a personal way to face up the same text. Even the same person may have different approaches to texts, if the case.
This is the point: personal strategies, for learning, for practicing, for retrieving, for real communication."
Funny Marx Brothers at rantsandmusings wordpress com - I tried to recall the title. Sorry I gave up
