2274. A practical activity and fruitful

A practical activity that has to do with memory, grammar, understanding a text, retrieving information, reading for the gist, reading about details or points, vocabulary, etc., is to provide a story you teacher have invented and made up, or from their textbook.

The students have, say, 5 or 7 minutes to read and try to memorize a text.

Afterward, they close the book or turn the sheet upside down, and they try to copy as much as possible, from their recalling.

It’s a very instructive exercise, which fosters and boosts some sub-skills. / Photo from: the-old-rectory-main www tripadvisor co uk. The photo is just an illustration for my blog
