I just said on the previous post that a young kid was able to naturalistically speak in English. 

Alike adults can acquire English, as wise professor H. D. Brown states. And so they can answer you questions in English, by thinking in English. 

Can any grown-up read a story directly in English from a worksheet I usually compose? The answer is a qualified Yes. So they can think in English. They get gently proud and motivated when I tell them these things. / Photo from: english courses in Malaysia www britishcouncil my

And today I’m going to let you know about something I lately do when lesson planning, in case it may help you out.  I teach English to adults. And when I start to plan a new lesson, I wonder, Okay, what should I do to really help my students learn that language? Because each and every class should be one step forward in their learning and acquiring English.  Secondly I also could wonder, Okay, what can I do next class to make my students become autonomous learners? From my paper on H. D. Brown.  Children can teach you a lesson on how to go about learning a foreign language. They tend to move directly into a foreign language. They don’t worry about what the native language equivalents are. They don’t mentally translate things as they’re listening or speaking. Your best bet would be to try being a little more childlike .
